These terms are a plain-English agreement between you and the operator of Bramblefen ("we", "us"). By creating an account or playing the game you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't play.
You need an account name and password to play. You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for everything done on your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country). One person may hold multiple accounts, but accounts may not be sold, traded or shared.
Don't be the reason we need a longer rules page. Specifically, you must not: harass or abuse other players; use slurs or hate speech; cheat, exploit bugs, use bots, macros or automation; attempt to attack, overload or gain unauthorised access to the service; scam other players; or impersonate staff. Moderators may mute or ban accounts that break these rules, temporarily or permanently, at our discretion.
Membership is an optional paid upgrade that applies to your whole account for the stated period (normally 30 days). While your account is a member, every character on it enjoys the member benefits, which currently include: additional regions of the world map (such as the Emberwastes and the far lands beyond it), member-only quests, gathering nodes, recipes, seeds, spells, gear, waystones and contracts, and an increase from 2 to 4 character slots on your account. Buying membership again before it expires extends it. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Membership grants content, not power, and the exact set of member benefits may change as the game evolves.
If your membership lapses you keep all of your characters and items — you simply cannot create characters beyond the free 2-slot limit, and member-only content locks again until you renew.
Refunds: if you are a UK/EU consumer you have a 14-day right to cancel digital purchases — however, by purchasing membership you consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge that the right to cancel is lost once the membership is applied to your account. If something went wrong with a purchase (double charge, wrong account), contact us and we will put it right.
Coins, items, characters and progress have no real-world monetary value, remain part of the service, and may not be bought or sold for real money outside the game. We may rebalance, alter or remove virtual items when needed for the health of the game.
Bramblefen is provided "as is". We aim for good uptime but do not guarantee the service will always be available, bug-free, or that progress will never be lost (we keep backups and will do our best). We may update, change or discontinue the service; if we shut down permanently we will give reasonable notice.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in-game or on this site, and continuing to play after a change means you accept it.
